Let me start off with an analysis of the skill slashing. It is a very powerful skill in the swordsmanship arsenal, attacking rapidly for 5 hits. The skill can channel while moving, a big plus to the utility of an already solid skill. What makes it deadly is being on a 10 sec cooldown. Its incredibly easy to burst a player down using strength and slashing alone, especially if they're undergeagred and unawares. I'd say for balancing purposes, the cooldown should be raised to 15 seconds.
Now for a cool idea. While being an essential skill for players utilizing the swordsmanship skill, the move itself is a bit lackluster in both name and execution. It's just called "slashing". You just slash. Thats it. Not very demoralizing considering you can be combo'd into a different plane of existence with this skill. I feel like it deserves a little polishing. The ability to move the skill around is already good, and you can pretty much hit what you want if you're focused and move your mouse correctly. Making the skill slashing into an AoE whirlwind shouldn't unbalance the game from either a PvP or PvE standpoint for a few justifiable reasons. In PvP, you have to watch for friendly fire when using skills anyway. You can easily kill or hurt your team with slashing already. In PvE, as I stated before.. you can already aim slashing pretty accurately if you're just focused. What gave me the idea of a whirlwind ability being plausible, in the first place actually came from the woodcutting skill. The woodcutting skill is suffering from weird animation bug where your character will spin rapidly in circles. This is also something mildly annoying and needs to be addressed, but alas. I believe it's doable! What do you all think?
